Some lovely completion photographs (by emanuelisphoto from a house refurbishment and ground rear extension project we undertook in Chiswick with Loader Menteith Architects. A nice slender circular column located in the corner allows for an efficient structural design, while the careful connection detailing allows the exposed gulam timbers zig zag across the soffit of the roof.
