Working with a usual client, we are happy to be involved on this new development in Slough. The scheme involves 36 new apartment flats, some of which are permitted development and the remaining being new build on top of the existing structure.
Structural this was a complex scheme as the existing concrete frame structure was only two stories high and the client wanted to add an additional two extra floors. We justified the additional load without having to strengthen the foundations. Further to this we added cross bracing along key perimeter sections to ensure that the the building remained stable against increased lateral loads due to the additional height.
